Extend smartphone’s battery life, here’s an info graphic for that:
BOOST YOUR BATTERY LIFE:
Dim your phone’s screen brightness or better to keep it on auto brightness mode. We love to see the display brighter but it is the mortal enemy of our battery. More than any other features or component in the phone brightness is the display consumes battery life at a overwhelming pace. So when you configure your phone on auto brightness mode it will keep your battery last long.
2. SCREEN TIMEOUT
Make sure that the screen timeout of your smartphone is less; Set your screen timeout shortest available time. This setting controls how long your phone’s screen stays lit after receiving input, such as a tap.
The process of setting screen timeout:
Go to your phone’s setting >> Display and wallpaper >> Screen timeout
3. TURN OFF WI-FI
Phone’s Wi-Fi is a serious battery drainer. Try to avoid keeping turn off the Wi-Fi while not using it.
4. DON’T USE VIBRATION
Vibration uses much more power than playing a ringtone does. After all, a ringtone only has to make a tiny membrane in your phone’s speaker vibrate enough to produce sound.
5. TURN ON POWER SAVING MODE
Power saving mode in our phone’s now a days very useful to save battery when the battery is going to died it is useful most probably while traveling because sometimes the charger and sometime power plugs are not available. Every smartphone have this mode and although, upgraded versions of our phones have the ultra-power saving mode. These modes provides the emergency services only and enables the other applications.
6. LOCATION SERVICES AND GPS
Another big battery sucker is apps using GPS, Wi-Fi and mobile data for monitoring your location. As a user, you can revoke apps’ access to location services, or set levels (in Android) to determine how much power they use. In Settings > Location, you can choose High accuracy when you need it, or Battery saving when you don’t. Be smart about what you allow each app to access. Allowing your apps to integrate with your location, camera, or SD card can be convenient but is most often not necessary. Granting too many permissions to an app that never uses them will drain your battery for no benefit.
Another important factors of battery life extension is charging the battery. Some points are noticeable while charging the phone:
- Don’t charge phone from 0 to 100%
- Don’t charge phone overnight
- Where possible use the charger that came with your phone
- While storing phone don’t leave it with 0% try to keep it on 40-50%
